How can I purchase and download an ebook ? On www.ubibooks.com, you can purchase an ebook by clicking on the "Add to cart" button or on the icon . Then check your order information and indicate the e-mail adress to which you wish to receive your order confirmation. You will be directed to a securized payment zone where you can pay on line with your credit card. After validation of your payment you will receive an e-mail containing an order confirmation. You will then be able to download your e-book from your own library which is accessible once you are identified on ubibooks website. In order to download your e-book, you will also have to enter the PID (Personnal ID) of your Cybook, PDA or Computer (for more information see below).
What is the average size of an eBook file?Mobipocket ebooks are quite small and range from 200 KB for a short to medium length eBook including mainly text to 600 KB for a longer work. For example, a 200-page novel is approximately 300 KB. The file size depends on the complexity of the content. An image-based eBook could be significantly larger.
On which devices can I read my ebooks ? The ebooks purchased on www.ubibooks.com can be read on PC computers, Tablet PCs, Pocket PC PDAs, Palm Devices, Psion and Cybook.
Ebooks purchased on www.ubibooks.com are copy-protected with Mobipocket DRM. This means that it will be possible to read these ebooks on the devices with the PIDs registered on ubibooks account. For instance, you may download an ebook to your PC and then send it to your Pocket PC if both PIDS have been registered in your ubibooks account. See here for more precise instructions about PIDs.
Why are the ebooks copy-protected ?In order to prevent from the uncontrolled distribution of their publishing content, for instance on Peer-to-Peer networks, more and more publishers and authors wish to protect ebooks from illicit digital copies. Hence, they wish to use Digital Right Management (DRM) technologies when offering ebooks to sale. These technologies warrant a fair use of ebooks both for publishers and authors and for readers. Especially, Mobipocket DRM system allows you to read ebooks on 2 different personal devices.
Where are my eBooks stored after download ?The ebooks purchased on www.ubibooks.com wil be downloaded first to your PC's or Tablet PC. If you want to read them on your Pocket PC, PAlm or Cybook you will have to synhcronize your Pocket PC device with the folder of your PC in which they are stored (using ActivSync) or put them in storage card. You are required to enter this information in your user account before you purchase an ebook for the first time.

download Mobipocket Reader), to get your PID.
Then, log on to your Mobipocket account.
Click on "Modify My PIDs", and fill in the PID of your device.
After validation, download your ebooks to your computer and double-click on the .prc files to sync to your PDA, Cybook or read on your PC.
What is my Personal ID (PID)? Personal ID (PID) is a unique identifier of your PDA or PC used by the Mobipocket Reader. It is displayed in the About Box of the Mobipocket Reader software.
If you do not have Mobipocket Reader installed, please download it first (

Start the Mobipocket Reader software on your PDA or PC,
- For Palm and eBookMan, click on the Menu icon of your PDA.
